2026 Budget Slashes Health Programs—Apparently America Is Too Healthy Now

Yesterday, someone inside the Department of Health and Human Services leaked the 2026 budget proposal—and it reads like a dystopian wish list from someone who’s been personally offended by the existence of poor people, babies, and the disabled.

Here’s a short list of what’s on the chopping block:

Primary care programs (because who needs a doctor?)

Rural hospitals (because farmers should just walk it off)

Traumatic brain injury support (brain injuries are a luxury now)

Universal newborn hearing screening (baby’s first words: “what?”)

Teen pregnancy prevention (why prevent when you can just punish?)

EMS for children (kids love ambulances, but not anymore!)

Substance abuse treatment for pregnant women (why help when you can criminalize?)

Childhood lead poisoning prevention (lead builds character)

Head Start and Preschool development (early education is for elites, apparently)

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) (shiver with patriotism)

Voting access for people with disabilities (because nothing says democracy like fewer voters)

And that’s not even the full list.

Left, right, or upside down—this list isn't about fiscal responsibility. It's about systematically gutting support for the most vulnerable people in America and calling it a “budget.”

They’re not trimming fat.

They’re cutting into bone—and then tossing the bones into a trash fire labeled “freedom.”

At this point, it’s not about making America great again.

It’s about seeing how much suffering can be shoved into a spreadsheet before anyone notices.

And now that someone did notice?

You have to ask: whose health is this department actually serving?
