Apple Settles Siri Lawsuit: Were Your Conversations Being Recorded?

Have you owned an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, iMac, MacBook, HomePod, iPod Touch, or Apple TV in the past decade? If yes, you might be eligible for cash from Apple’s class action settlement.

Here’s the deal: Apple has agreed to settle after creepy allegations that their Siri feature was secretly recording private conversations and sharing them with advertisers. Yep, you read that right. People were talking about things like Olive Garden, Air Jordans, private medical procedures, and then—bam—ads for those exact things started popping up. Creepy, right?

While Apple is denying any wrongdoing as part of the settlement, you could still get up to $20 per device, with a limit of five devices per household (that’s $100 max). To claim your share, you’ll need to confirm you’ve owned one of these Siri-enabled devices, enabled Siri, and that Siri accidentally activated during a private conversation.

The site to file hasn’t launched yet, but stay tuned, and I’ll guide you through the process when it’s live.
