Conservatives Say the Real American Dream Is... a Coal Mine and No iPhone

Turns out the future of America isn't flying cars or AI—it's hard hats and herniated discs.

Conservatives are now out here justifying mass government layoffs by claiming that "office jobs are weak," and real Americans should be working in factories, mines, or bare-knuckle welding tournaments, apparently.

One viral take summed it up:

"Your great-grandfather worked in the mines. Your grandfather worked in a steel plant. And you thought you could be a... product manager?"

Yes. Yes, he did. Because that’s what progress is.

It’s called not dying of black lung before 40.

But no—under the new regime, being a knowledge worker is considered selfish, weak, and un-American.

If you're not sweating through denim and inhaling asbestos, you're basically a communist.

See, here’s the slippery slope:

Trump drops tariffs with zero infrastructure, no supply chain planning, and no actual factories ready. So when Americans can’t afford anything and job markets collapse?

The plan is not to fix it.

The plan is to convince you that buying nothing, earning nothing, and doing manual labor until your spine gives out... is patriotism.

They want to sell a lifestyle where consumerism is evil, leisure is lazy, and you should be grateful to live in a shipping container and make bolts for 12 hours a day with no weekends—because that’s how your great-grandpa did it.

Forget “Make America Great Again.”

This is “Make America Miserable Again.”

But with better marketing.

Because if the economy collapses, and they can’t give you prosperity,

They’ll give you pride instead.

And they’re hoping you won’t notice the difference.
