Elon Musk, the GOP, and the Attack on ActBlue: What’s Really at Stake

Elon Musk, the GOP, and the Attack on ActBlue: What’s Really at Stake

So, here's the situation: Elon Musk and the Republican Party have set their sights on ActBlue, a critical part of the Democratic Party's infrastructure that allows candidates to raise money from grassroots supporters. It's what helps us compete against the billions Republicans get from billionaires, including Musk himself.

ActBlue powers small-dollar donations for Democratic candidates—from local city council races all the way up to the presidential campaign. And you know what? The GOP HATES that. That's why they're spreading false claims about the platform, from trafficking accusations to foreign donations—completely baseless attacks aimed at weakening a key Democratic tool.

But here’s the kicker: This isn’t new. Republicans have been targeting Democratic infrastructure for years, using their power to create a hostile environment for our party’s campaign efforts. Jim Jordan even subpoenaed Democrats, trying to disarm the opposition. It's not just about politics—it’s about taking away the tools that help us compete fairly in elections.

If this continues, Democrats will struggle to compete with the money Republicans have, or worse, we might have to rely more on corporate donations. That’s the opposite of what we want.

So, what can we do? Show solidarity with ActBlue. Share this, use the tool, make donations to Democratic candidates, and help defend the infrastructure that keeps our democracy alive.

Because if we don’t stand up now, the fight for fair elections in 2026 and 2028 could already be lost.
