Elon’s $2 Trillion Government Cuts Vanish—Now Just “Trust Me, Bro” Accounting
Remember when Elon Musk teamed up with Trump’s Doge team and boldly promised $2 trillion in federal spending cuts? Well, surprise—none of that is real.
Here’s how the fantasy collapsed in real time:
Campaign Trail: $2 trillion in cuts. Big talk.
January 30th (just days into office): Revised to $1 trillion. Oops.
April 10th: Slashed again to $150 billion. Yikes.
Today: Claims of $92 billion in cuts with zero explanation—and only $63 billion in itemized “savings,” many of which are riddled with errors.
At this point, “Dogeonomics” is just vibes and bad math.
Turns out, running the federal government isn’t the same as running a car company or launching a meme coin. And definitely not the same as selling flamethrowers online.
To every supporter who bought into the $2 trillion promise, despite economists shouting from the rooftops that it was mathematically impossible—congrats, you were lied to. Boldly. Repeatedly. And on-brand.
Just remember: when billionaires promise you massive cuts without a plan, they’re not budgeting—they’re campaigning.
Check your receipts.
