Florida: Where Elephants Run the Show and Still Blame the Donkeys 🐘💸

So here’s a fun fact most Floridians don’t seem to realize:

Florida hasn’t had a Democratic governor in over 25 years.

That’s right. A full quarter-century of GOP rule.

A quarter-century of Republicans running the state like it’s a country club with no dress code, just vibes and embezzlement.

And yet—every time gas prices rise or food costs spike—

somebody's granduncle is out here screaming: “Thanks, Biden!”

As if Joe is running Publix from a bunker under the White House.

But let’s really zoom in on what’s happening in the Sunshine State:

🌴 State leadership? All Republican.

🗳️ Legislature? Republican-controlled.

👑 Governors for 25+ years? Republican, Republican, and oh—Republican.

And what have Floridians gotten in return?

Rick Scott, who allegedly pulled off the largest Medicare fraud in U.S. history before becoming a senator.

Ron DeSantis, who allegedly shuffled $10 million in taxpayer funds to his wife’s non-profit foundation and called it “philanthropy.”

And an entire political class whose top skill appears to be making headlines and budget cuts—usually in that order.

But sure, blame the guy in D.C. for the pothole outside your house and the underfunded school down the street.

Here’s the truth bomb:

Local government hits harder than federal.

State governors decide how Medicaid works, what textbooks are banned, and whether your kid’s school has AC or a trap door to the 1800s.

But Florida keeps handing the wheel to people who shout "freedom!" while cutting social services, banning books, and somehow still finding time to allegedly steal millions.

So maybe the real question isn’t, “Why is everything getting worse?”

Maybe it’s, “How many times are y’all gonna let the same people rob the pantry before realizing it’s an inside job?”

Because at this point, Florida doesn’t have a red state problem—

it has a red state amnesia.
