In the Last 48 Hours, Congressional Republicans Passed 5 Harmful Bills

In just two days, congressional Republicans have passed five damaging bills that will have long-term negative impacts on Americans. Here’s a breakdown:

1. The Budget Bill

They passed a budget that adds trillions to the national debt and slashes nearly a trillion dollars from healthcare. So, where’s the money going? Tax giveaways to the wealthiest Americans. It’s not about helping the average citizen.

2. The SAVE Act

This new bill makes it harder to vote for millions of Americans, especially women and those serving abroad. For example, if your driver’s license doesn’t match your birth certificate (which many married women face), it could prevent you from voting altogether. This isn’t about fair elections—it’s about restricting access to voting.

3. The Tariff Endorsement Bill

In the midst of the tariff chaos and a crashing market, they passed a bill endorsing the tariffs and stripping Congress’s power to curb the president's authority on tariffs. This undermines the balance of power and opens the door to more unchecked executive decisions.

4. The Federal Judges Stripping Bill

This bill weakens the power of federal judges, particularly those who’ve been ruling against Trump on constitutional matters. Instead of upholding the law, this bill limits judges’ rulings to local jurisdiction only, undermining their authority on federal matters.

5. The Overdraft Fees Bill

Perhaps the cruelest: Republicans passed a bill that jacks up overdraft fees. If you have a rough day and overdraft your account, your fee could be as high as $100. Why? To line the pockets of the wealthy, as usual. This removes the cap on fees and targets people who are already struggling.

What Can We Do?

We need to shift public opinion and get a few Republicans in the Senate and House to change their stance. It’s not too late to make a difference, but we need everyone’s voice to bring an end to this reckless path.

Let’s make sure people know what’s happening so we can take action.
