Let’s Pretend I’m a 1% Republican—Here’s Why I’m Smiling Right Now

Let’s set the stage.

Imagine being a well-educated, economically savvy, stock-investing Republican. Not MAGA—definitely not MAGA. Just someone who understands how markets work and isn’t screaming into a Truth Social void.

Now, why would someone like that be optimistic right now?

Simple: Trump’s economic chaos is a massive opportunity.

See, MAGA doesn’t get it. They don’t invest.

They’re not following macroeconomic trends.

They’re just here for the giant “NO TAX ON TIPS” headlines in bold red letters, while ignoring the fine print that says “exclusions apply.”

But the 1%? They’re reading between the lines.

They’re seeing a new wave of international investment—one that will make them even richer.

Let’s break it down:

American manufacturing? A joke right now.

There are no U.S.-based companies that make the machines that build the machines. No one’s churning out the tools, textiles, or tech needed to rebuild an industrial base from scratch.

But international companies? They’ve got it all. And Trump’s tariffs are practically inviting them to set up shop here.

Take LG, for example.

South Korean company.

Already building washing machines in Tennessee.

Their U.S. plant uses robots, AI, automation—not labor.

They manufacture 1.8 million washers/dryers a year, while Speed Queen, a U.S. company with great reviews, charges $2,700 for the same thing that LG makes for half that price with zero people.

The tariffs? Just negotiating tools.

Trump hits countries with 25% tariffs, waits for them to flinch, then drops it to 15% if they play ball.

LG’s already in the U.S., so they just pass on a small cost increase and keep dominating.

And where are these international factories being built?

Tennessee. Georgia. South Carolina.

Why? $7.25/hour minimum wage.

MAGA territory.

So MAGA folks are out here celebrating “new jobs” while not realizing they’re:

Getting undercut by robot armies

Watching American companies go bankrupt

And cheering for $15/hr jobs that aren’t even going to them—because the real roles are filled by H1B visa workers with specialized skills.

Meanwhile, the 1% Republican?

They’re loading up on LG stock and watching their portfolio soar.

So yeah—if you’re rich, educated, and understand how the game works, Trump’s economic nationalism is just globalism in disguise…

And it’s working really well for your bank account.

Everyone else? They're just background music.
