MAGA Kills Texas High-Speed Rail, Says “No Thanks” to Progress, Time Savings, and Common Sense
In today’s episode of “Let’s Ruin the Future One Bad Decision at a Time,” Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy just axed funding for the Dallas-to-Houston high-speed rail, calling it a “waste of taxpayer money.”
Sixty million dollars to move Texans safely and efficiently through one of the most congested travel corridors in the country? Nah. That’s apparently too extravagant. But blowing tens of billions every year to patch up Texas’s endless spaghetti mess of crumbling highways? Totally fine.
Reminder: That Dallas-to-Houston drive is a soul-crushing, gas-guzzling, four-hour death trap on a good day. A high-speed rail could’ve shaved it down to 90 minutes. You know, like a real country with modern infrastructure.
Instead, MAGA said, “Let’s keep things exactly as broken and deadly as they’ve always been. Just add more lanes. And more traffic. And maybe a few more car crashes.”
Why build smarter when you can keep paving the same potholes for eternity?
Vision? Gone. Leadership? Nope. Ideas? Only if it involves keeping things slow, dangerous, and expensive.
Cool. Awesome. Thanks, President Trump.
