MAGA Now Thinks They’re Smarter Than Economists—Again

The moment Trump rolled out his new tariff plan, MAGA Twitter instantly became an economics faculty. According to them, top economists from around the world? Clueless. Meanwhile, Bob from Facebook has a gut feeling tariffs are good, and that’s all that matters.

Never mind that actual economists—people who study global markets for a living—have been warning this is going to backfire spectacularly. And it's already happening: inflation creeping up, manufacturing slowing, and the stock market looking like it just got off a rollercoaster blindfolded.

But here's the wild part: no one should be surprised. Trump has spent years dismantling public trust in experts. Scientists, doctors, economists—if they say something inconvenient, they're suddenly part of the deep state.

Remember when Trump claimed that scientists were spending taxpayer money to make mice transgender? Actual researchers tried explaining that “transgenic” is a common term in genetics, and not some woke rodent makeover. MAGA didn’t care. They ran with it like it was gospel.
