North Carolina Republicans Are Trying to Throw Out Military Votes to Steal a Supreme Court Seat
In case anyone needed a reminder that voter suppression is alive and well—North Carolina Republicans are literally trying to toss out military ballots to overturn a state Supreme Court race they narrowly lost.
Here’s the deal:
Democrat Justice Allison Riggs beat Republican Jefferson Griffin by just 734 votes.
Griffin, not taking the L, decided to challenge 67,000 ballots—including thousands from military and overseas voters.
The North Carolina Court of Appeals, where Griffin himself is a judge (nothing shady at all), ruled it was fine to toss those votes.
The NC Supreme Court stepped in and blocked part of it, allowing 60,000 votes to stand, but let Republicans toss 6–7,000 military/overseas ballots.
Yes. You read that right.
They are actively trying to disenfranchise U.S. service members to steal an election.
Justice Riggs isn’t having it. She’s now appealing to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals after a Trump-appointed federal judge rubber-stamped the voter purge.
And here’s the kicker: They want this complicated on purpose. Confuse the public, bury it in legalese, and hope no one notices democracy getting mugged in broad daylight.
But voters are noticing. Especially the ones on the GriffinList.com, where you can check if your vote is one of the thousands Republicans are trying to erase.
Because this isn’t about "election integrity."
It’s about litigating their way to power when they can’t win it honestly.
