Trump Admin Just Declared “Race Is Real” in a Government Document—Because Apparently It’s 1923 Again
The White House just published a document titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History”—and yes, it’s as Orwellian as it sounds.
Buried in this official release is a bizarre complaint: they’re upset that the Smithsonian dared to say race is a human invention.
Let’s be clear: race is a human invention. It’s a social construct, not a biological reality. Every credible scientific field—genetics, anthropology, psychology—has spent the last 70 years rejecting the pseudoscience of “race realism,” which is just racism in a lab coat.
But Trump’s admin is trying to bring it all back. Like it’s still the golden age of eugenics and phrenology.
This isn’t just about museum signage. It’s about reviving old-school race science—dangerous garbage that once fueled everything from Jim Crow to sterilization programs. They want to make racism sound like science again, so they can codify discrimination into policy and call it “objective truth.”
What makes it worse? They're doing this while most people aren't geneticists, so they can't easily debunk it. But here’s the science in plain English:
Humans are 99.9% genetically identical.
There’s more variation within so-called “racial groups” than between them.
The categories we call “races” don’t even make sense genetically or historically.
Ancient DNA shows constant migration and mixing—especially in places like the Mediterranean, where people from Europe, North Africa, and West Asia were intermingling thousands of years ago.
Race science only survives if people forget how connected we really are.
So when Trump tries to make race “biological” again, he’s not restoring truth—he’s reviving a lie that’s been used to justify everything from segregation to genocide.
And calling it “sanity” just adds insult to ignorance.
