Trump’s $5 Million Gold Cards: A "Golden" Lie Confirmed

Trump’s $5 Million Gold Cards: A "Golden" Lie Confirmed

Remember when the Trump administration promised they had sold 1,000 gold cards at $5 million each, supposedly netting the U.S. a cool $5 billion? Turns out... that was just a tall tale.

The administration has now come clean, confirming what many already suspected. According to a New York Times story, the Doge Team is now working on a system to sell these gold cards, which are supposedly replacing the EB-5 visas.

The EB-5 visa program used to generate $4 billion annually, with investors putting up between $800,000 and $1 million, and creating jobs. But the new $5 million gold card won’t require any of that pesky job creation or investment in the U.S. economy.

Here’s the kicker: the gold cards don’t work around existing naturalization laws. You can’t just buy permanent U.S. residency without meeting the legal requirements. So, a bunch of these $5 million investors could end up being in the U.S. illegally, meaning they could eventually get deported.

Looks like the only thing golden about this idea is the scam.
