Trump’s Law Enforcement Priorities: Forget Terrorists—We’re Deporting the People Who Pick Your Strawberries
Ah yes, America’s tough-on-crime strategy: Ignore actual criminals and go after farmworkers.
Donald Trump has once again redirected federal law enforcement away from, I don’t know, terrorists, drug cartels, human traffickers—actual threats… and instead, he’s sending ICE after farmworkers and laborers.
So while fentanyl pours across the border, while domestic extremists plot the next attack, while corporations launder billions—our taxpayer-funded agencies are out there tackling the “grave national threat” of… people picking apples.
Make it make sense.
Look, no one is saying bad actors shouldn’t be deported. But using the entire weight of the federal government to terrorize farmworkers and laborers—people who, let’s be honest, are keeping this country functioning—is beyond absurd.
This isn’t about “law and order.” It’s about scapegoating. It’s about fear-mongering for political gain. It’s about distracting people from the fact that the real criminals—the ones hoarding wealth, gutting wages, and selling out the country—look nothing like the people being targeted.
But sure, let’s all pretend like Miguel from the strawberry field is the biggest threat to America.
