Trump's "Tax Cuts for the Rich" – The Gift That Keeps on Taking
So, here we are. 2017. Trump drops his Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and guess who benefits the most? Yep, you guessed it – the ultra-rich and corporations. But don’t worry, everyone else gets a little gift too, right? Well, sort of.
The bottom 20% of earners get an extra $60.
The top 1.1%? Oh, they get a cool $193,000.
And people thought “trickle-down economics” would actually work this time. Spoiler alert: It didn't. But hey, Trump’s the genius here, right? So why bother questioning it?
Now, fast forward to 2020. The pandemic hits. People are still filing taxes, but hey, don’t blame Trump’s tax cuts for all the financial mess—because we're all living off Obama-era policies (remember those?).
Fast Forward Again to 2023… and BOOM.
Inflation's through the roof, and suddenly, everyone’s feeling the REAL impact of those 2017 tax cuts. But here’s the kicker: It’s easier to blame the current administration (Biden’s got the blame now) than to acknowledge Trump’s tax policies are what’s actually screwing us.
But wait for it… the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 expires in 2025. So, when we file in 2026, we’ll STILL be feeling it. And mark my words, people will still be blaming Biden for it. Classic.
And Now... Trump’s “Big New Plan” for the Next Round of Tax Cuts!
Guess what? You’re still screwed.
The poorest 20%? Get ready to pay more.
The top 4% and the richest 1%? Oh, they’ll pay less.
So, when your tax return comes back in 2027 (because this won’t hit until then), and the economy’s even worse thanks to tariffs, inflation, and maybe even mass deportations, guess who’s going to feel the pinch? Oh, yeah—YOU. But don’t worry, the rich are totally fine.
But here’s the catch: Trump told us this would happen. He said it outright. He promised to hurt us. And guess what? We voted for it.
So next time you feel the pain, just remember: we all dragged ourselves into this mess. Thanks for that.
